Motion Design

Race to Riches

I collaborated with a team of 10 designers and developers, partnering with The Strong Museum of Play to create an immersive, interactive experience inspired by the history of game shows. Drawing from formats like Cash Cab, we designed a fast-paced, participatory experience that transforms visitors from spectators into players, blending nostalgia with real-time interaction.

EXPERIENCE CONCEPT :

Museums often rely on passive viewing, which can limit engagement. Our goal was to reimagine how visitors interact with the history of game shows by creating an experience that is dynamic, intuitive, and participatory.

The concept draws from the energy of live game shows, combining trivia, timed interactions, and real-time feedback to create a fast-paced and engaging environment.

Designing The Experience :

I focused on designing a responsive and engaging interface that supports quick decision-making while maintaining a cohesive and playful visual identity.

The UI was designed with clarity and hierarchy in mind, ensuring users could easily understand gameplay in a fast-paced environment. Microinteractions were developed to provide immediate feedback, reinforcing user actions through transitions, timing-based responses, and visual cues.

In addition to the interface, I created character visuals to support the tone and personality of the experience, and designed social media assets to extend the visual identity beyond the interaction itself. These assets were strategically developed to target and engage potential audiences, build anticipation leading up to the event, and drive interest in experiencing the project firsthand.

Collaboration :

This project was developed in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of designers and developers. I worked to ensure that UI, motion, and visual elements translated effectively into the final interactive experience.

This required aligning design decisions with technical implementation while maintaining consistency across all components of the project.

Outcome :

The final experience transforms a traditionally passive museum setting into an engaging, interactive environment that encourages participation and exploration.

This project strengthened my ability to design for real-time interaction, combining UI, motion, and visual storytelling to create a cohesive experience. It also reinforced the importance of collaboration when bringing complex, interactive concepts to life.
